2.4 (or 1.2) MILE OPEN WATER SWIM

With IMAZ moving to a Fall date, we thought it would be nice to give you another chance to swim in Tempe Town Lake prior to Ironman Arizona. Get a feel for the water and spot landmarks to navigate by before the big event. Not going to Ironman? Come out and test yourself at this challenging, yet attainable goal. 
 
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Swim 1.2 or 2.4 miles
 
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Beginning and ending at the Venue just east of the Mill Ave. Bridge on the south shore, this course will be a two lap rectangular swim.
 
COST
$30 prior to October 11
$40 prior to November 8
$50 late registration
 
PARKING
Parking is available at Lot 59 or at the Suncor Building along the south shore between Rural Blvd. and Mill Avenue.
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Sunday, November 9
             
  • 8:00 a.m. Packet Pick Up and Late Registration Open at the Venue - Lake side just east of Mill Ave Bridge              
  • 10:15 a.m. All athletes to the water              
  • 10:30 a.m. 2.4 mile swim begins 


  • 10:35 a.m. 1.2 mile swim begins             


  • 1:00 p.m. Results

 Body marking will be available all morning. For timing purposes it is very important to have the back of your hand numbered.
 
AWARDS
Every finisher will receive a commemorative award.
 
USA TRIATHLON
We are proud to be sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up, or (2) purchase a one day membership for $10. REFUNDS
 
THERE ARE NO CASH REFUNDS! ENTRY FEE- EVENT CREDIT If you wish to withdraw from an event you may receive an event credit to a future DCB Extreme Adventures Event. You must notify us in writing (email- shannon@dcbadventures.com or 891 E. Warner Road 100-138, Gilbert, AZ 85296) of your intent to withdraw and meet one of the following scenarios. 1) If for any reason, you notify DCB Extreme Adventures more than 30 days prior to the event date you will receive a 50% credit towards a future DCB Extreme Adventures Event.. This credit only covers the race entry fee. USAT one-day licenses, processing fees and online registration fees will not be included with your credit. OR 2) If you have a medical reason, you will need to provide a signed doctors letter advising us that you are not able to compete. DCB Extreme Adventures must receive this letter at least 14 days prior to the event date in order for you to receive your 50% race event credit. This credit only covers the race entry fee. USAT one-day licenses, processing fees and online registration fees will not be included in your credit. Extenuating Circumstances: If you have an injury or a member of your immediate family has a death or a medical emergency and it is within 14 days of the scheduled event and greater than 72 hours prior to the event, you will need to notify us in writing. The race director will consider each request on a case-by-case basis for future DCB Extreme Adventures event credit. No credits will be issued with less than 72 hours of race date Please be advised that USAT considers transferred event entry fraud. If you sell or give your race slot away, both you and the person using the race slot are subject to a 2-year suspension from racing at any USAT sanctioned race. PLEASE contact us if you intend on doing something like this and we will do it the right way.
