Sprint Triathlon

Welcome to the sixth installment of The Anthem Holiday Classic Triathlon! This popular sprint triathlon is the final multisport event on the Arizona Calendar. The Holiday Classic Triathlon begins with a 400m serpentine pool swim. After a quick transition, speed off on a fast 22km bike course. Finish the race with a 5km run through the Anthem Country Club.

Come for the triathlon, stay for Anthem’s Christmas festivities. On Saturday evening 60 tons of snow will be piled high on the lower! Wagon rides, pony rides, super slide, swing ride, bounce houses, simulated roller coaster ride and hot air balloon rides. CLICK HERE for more details on the activities in the Anthem Community Park.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Swim

Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 10-15 second gap. You will be asked, on race day, for your estimated 400m swim time and arranged in order from fastest to slowest 15 minutes before the race begins. Each athlete will swim on one side of lane 1, down the opposite side of lane 1, under than lane lines into lane 2 and repeat the process through all 8 lanes.

Thursday, December 6

Packet pick up at Tribe Multisport from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

Tribe Multisport is located at 1800 N. Scottsdale Road, one block north of McDowell Road next to the LA Fitness on the west side of the street.

Friday, December 7

Packet pick up at The Anthem Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

Saturday, December 8

PARKING

Parking will be at a premium for this event. We would encourage local residents to walk or ride a bike to the event and carpool where possible. Please follow the instructions of parking attendants and law enforcement. Also, please avoid parking in the Community Center lot where possible.

Parking will be available at:

Safeway parking area (SW corner of Anthem Way & Gavillan Peak Parkway)
Surface street parking on Whitman between Gavillan Peak Parkway and Freedom Way
The Anthem Community Park
The Anthem Community Center (41130 N Freedom Way)

DIRECTIONS

Take I-17 North to Anthem Way (5 miles North of Carefree Highway). Exit right onto Anthem Way . Continue straight through the traffic lights at Gavillan Peak Parkway. Take a right at Freedom Way. Parking will be available at the Anthem Community Center located on Freedom Way.

AWARDS

Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers per the following age groups:

15-19

20-24

25-29

30-34

35-39

40-44

45-49

50-54

55-59

60+

Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in the following categories:

Clydesdales (Men 200 +lbs)

Athenas (Women 150+ lbs)

USA TRIATHLON

We are proud to be sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up, or (2) purchase a one day membership for $10. REFUNDS

A refund of 50% the entry fee paid, less any fees charged by Active for online entry, will be given if requested 30 days before race day. After that there are no refunds, credits or transfers for any reason. This includes weather, injury or the necessity to change distances or the course due to unforeseen and/or unanticipated circumstances.
