In September of 2001 I went to England to visit my brother, Dietrich, and compete in the XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon near Minehead on the Bristol Channel. I had a mechanical on the bike, my chain broke, and I wound up running my bike… I came upon a competitor who had a flat, but no spare, so… instead of both of us running our bikes… I traded my back tire for his. Well this gesture brought more notoriety than expected.
My friend Andrew Marsh, coordinator of the Nissan Xterra Point Series here in the States was at that race. We talked a bit and they really wanted Arizona to have a race on their schedule… I told him I'd talk to some of the race directors in the state, and see if I could generate any interest. Well, after a few phone calls, I found that there was no interest. Andrew suggested that I put on the race in Arizona, and the rest is history… I took this on full time in March 2003 and slowly developed the events you see today on our calendar.
In August 2005, Jeremy Graham joined DCB Extreme Adventures. Jeremy has organized several outstanding events like the SOMA Half Ironman triathlon, the Pat Tillman Triathlon and the Splash & Dash Series. Jeremy brings his extensive experience and almost clairvoyant mind to all of the events on our calendar. We are excited to have Jeremy, his wife Tricia and their kids Harry, Dan and Isabelle join the DCB team!
